About Nived

Nived Joshi, a versatile and talented musician, has been immersed in the world of music from a very young age. His natural inclination towards Hindustani music was evident when, as a toddler, he would play on the keyboard and watch music videos on YouTube with great fascination. Growing up in a musical household with his father and grandfather being musicians themselves, Nived was exposed to various genres of music that captivated his young mind.

Formal vocal training in Hindustani classical music began at the age of 7 under the guidance of his esteemed guru, Smt. Chandrima Sanyal Dutta. The rigorous training instilled discipline and love for the art form in Nived, who steadily honed his skills and developed a deep connection with Hindustani music.

​

His musical journey expanded during his schooling days at National Public School (NPS) Indiranagar, where he actively participated in singing competitions and became a part of the school choir. Simultaneously, he started learning the piano formally and later received training at Taaqademy, where his passion for the instrument soared. Nived's dedication to music led him to excel in playing the piano, and he even explored the bass guitar, finding an intriguing fascination with its sound and impact on songs.

Transitioning to Gopalan International School (GIS) in 7th grade, Nived's musical horizons broadened further when he became a member of the school band, GMinors. Under the guidance of their talented music teacher, Mr. Neville D'Monte, the band delved into Retro Pop, learning various aspects of musical performances and garnering accolades in inter-school and national competitions.

During the challenging times of the Covid pandemic, Nived made the best use of his time by delving into music production, mastering software like GarageBand and Logic Pro. His repertoire expanded to include both Indian and Western music, as well as fusion creations and collaborations. Nived's versatility extended to mastering different instruments like the ukulele, djembe, electric and acoustic guitars, recorder, harmonica, and more.

As the pandemic eased, Nived and some of his passionate band members formed "Ace of Spades," a dynamic band that experimented with diverse genres, captivating audiences with their high-energy performances at various venues and competitions.

With his passion for music driving him to explore and innovate, Nived continues to enrich his musical journey. Whether it's the intricacies of Hindustani classical music or the harmonies of Western tunes, Nived's dedication to music knows no bounds.

Beyond his undying passion for music, Nived has nurtured a deep love for nature and adventure from a tender age. As an avid trekker and nature enthusiast, he has embarked on over five high-altitude treks in the majestic Himalayas, immersing himself in the breathtaking beauty of the mountains and finding solace in the embrace of nature's wonders. On weekends, Nived and his family often embark on trekking and camping escapades around Bangalore, exploring more than 25 hillocks, each offering its unique charm and allure.
